Little Black Dress Initiative (LBDI)

The Junior League of Pensacola is taking part in the Little Black Dress Initiative (LBDI) this year in hopes of educating the public about the distresses of poverty and violence against women.

During this week-long event, women across Pensacola are wearing the same Little Black Dress (or black outfit) for 5 days in a row as an attention grabber and conversation starter about the issues women in our community struggle daily to overcome in a cycle of poverty — issues such as the threat of human trafficking and domestic violence, access to adequate childcare, food insecurity and the availability of healthy options, mental health and housing instability.
